About
Me

Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here.

My name is Dr. Yoonhee Kim, and I’m a licensed clinical psychologist in California (License #:PSY35791) with specialized training in pediatric psychology and chronic pain. I consider it a sacred privilege to walk alongside children, teens, and families navigating complex medical and emotional experiences.

I bring a warm, compassionate presence to my work and seek to create a space that feels safe, collaborative, and grounded in respect for the full complexity of who you are. I believe that our emotional health is shaped not only by our internal world, but also by the cultural, familial, and intersectional identities that inform how we experience life. I approach each person and family with curiosity, humility, and a desire to understand your unique story.

My clinical work is rooted in evidence-based care and enriched by lived experience, academic training, and a deep commitment to honoring the resilience of every family I meet. Whether you’re seeking support for chronic pain, emotional challenges, or simply looking for a space to process and grow, I would be honored to partner with you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect in a session?

Each individual therapy session is approximately 50 minutes long. The number of sessions varies for each client and is tailored to your unique needs, goals, and the pace at which you feel comfortable working. Some clients come for a few sessions to focus on a specific concern, while others benefit from longer-term support. We’ll collaborate to find what works best for you.

What are your fees and do you accept insurance?

My fee for individual sessions is commensurate with that of other clinical psychologists in the local area who have specialized training in pediatric psychology. Please note that I do not accept insurance at this time. However, I am happy to provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance provider for potential out-of-network reimbursement. I recommend checking with your insurance company in advance to understand your out-of-network mental health benefits and reimbursement process.

Do you offer telehealth or do you meet in person?

Currently, all sessions are offered via telehealth, although I hope to soon provide in person options as well.
